Mass Obligation: Together, the Bishops of Ohio have decided that the general obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation (including the Saturday/Vigil Mass) is to be reinstated (CIC, can. 1247). This was effective in each of the Dioceses of Ohio the weekend of June 5-6, 2021.
In addition, diocesan officials remind the faithful that the dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and holy days of obligation remains in effect for those who are ill, have significant health risk factors or care for someone who is immune compromised or ill, as well as those who have significant fear or anxiety of contracting coronavirus in a large group of persons. If you’re not feeling well, please remain at home.
Face Masks: No longer will be required, but are strongly encouraged by the Bishop for those not vaccinated or considered vulnerable.
Social Distancing: The use of all seating areas will be permitted.
Sign of Peace: The sign of peace will be permitted, but should be exchanged without physical contact between those not of the same household.
Offertory Collection: Ushers will be collecting the offertory at the pews.
Bulletins: Will be available for parishioners to pick up at all exits.
Holy Water: Will be available at all fonts.
Communion Procession: will begin from front as in the past.
Worship Aid Handouts Available: Will be offering handouts with hymns and/or readings for each Mass temporarily. Online worship aids will continue to be available on our website as well and are encouraged (please silence your device).
What kind of resources would YOU like to have available at Mass? The Liturgy Committee is researching the options, please share your thoughts with Jolene Nelson, Music Director after Mass or email [email protected].
Thank you for your patience while the parish transitions to our new normal.
“Please continue to pray for a complete end to the pandemic, for all those who died from the pandemic and for those who have lost loved ones, employment or have been adversely impacted by the pandemic,” said Bishop Edward Malesic.
