Our Saint Mary Preschool aligns with the Diocese of Cleveland course of study and follows the Ohio Department of Education Early Learning and Development Standards.
The two Preschool programs, meeting either 2-days or 3-days a week, are available for children ages 3 or 4 with an emphasis on social/emotional learning. The Pre-Kindergarten program is designeed to ensure students have everything they need for Kindergarten the following year and consists of a strong foundation in Religion, Language, Math Readiness, Gross Motor Skills and Fine Motor Skills. Additionally, those in our Pre-Kindergarten program participate every week in specialized classes taught by our K-8 teachers consisting of Music, Art, Technology, Physical Education and have "Library" time with guest readers in the classroom or up in the school library.
As the first school in Lorain County with the official STEM designation by the Ohio Department of Education, we have regular STEM days which includes our Pre-K students, giving them the benefits of this innovative approach using PBL lessons at a young age.
